Frequently Asked Questions
What is an enzyme peel?
Enzymes are found naturally in many fruits and are water activated. They break down the proteins found in the skin, which help to make it softer. Enzymes can also help to break down some of the bonds on the outermost layers of the skin. It is one of the gentlest forms of exfoliation. An enzyme removes the top layers of skin to exfoliate and expedite cell turnover. Enzyme peels do not contain acid, do not alter the skins pH, and do not damage or remove live tissue; it exfoliates only dead tissue. An enzyme peel is great for nearly every skin type, including pregnant clients.
What is a chemical peel?
A noninvasive skin treatment used to treat a multitude of skin conditions including hyperpigmentation, acne, acne scarring, age spots, fine lines and wrinkles. Chemical peels are used to exfoliate the skin by using different strengths and combinations of ingredients, working from the inside out. When applied to the skin, the acid dissolves the bonds that hold dead skin cells onto new, healthy skin cells. It also stimulates the skin to form new healthy cells.
What is tinting?
Tinting consists of using a vegetable based semi permanent dye specifically formulated for use on the brows and lashes. The tint doesn’t penetrate the hair shaft, so it doesn’t damage the follicle at all, and slowly rinses out with every wash. When tinting lashes, eyes have to remain closed for 10 minutes.
